A demonstration lesson is a planned lesson taught to an interview committee or a group of students to assess your teaching abilities and skills. The process can vary depending on the school: You may be directed to teach a specific topic or a particular skill; or, you may be.

The search committee will probably ask you to reflect on your demonstration as part of the interview. Be prepared with an answer.

No teaching demonstration will ever be perfect. Note some positive things about your lesson -- the students’ engagement level or understanding of the objective, pacing, use of technology and the like.

Additionally, one of the job talks I gave was also supposed to be part teaching demonstration. I was offered two of those three jobs. Here’s what I learned: Make it simple. You will most likely have around 30 minutes for your demonstration (maybe up to 45, possibly as few as 20).

As interviews approach, applicants are signing up for their interview date, uploading transcripts, and preparing for the sample teaching lesson. One of these actions seems to cause more stress than any other: the sample teaching lesson.

A five-minute lesson may seem like a daunting task, but the truth is that it's nothing to worry about. An interview portfolio consists of six main parts: an introduction, a professional background summary, STAR behavioral examples, awards and recommendations, sample solution(s), and a closing page.

While the content will be similar to what’s on your resume, the portfolio takes it a step further to “show and tell” your skills with specific. 1 day ago  The two of us met Sarah Huckabee Sanders, at the time still Trump’s White House press secretary and close confidante, in part in hopes of arranging an interview with the president for the book.
